Contempo Dance Centre Performing Lines
Welcome to the Contempo Dance Centre Performing Lines. This is a step in commitment to the dancing in your life. This information will help you understand what the studio’s expectations will be of all competition dancers. A competition student/parent meeting will be held to answer all your performing line questions and be sure this is the step you will want to make. Our competition program is really for those who not only have a natural ability but must also have a passion for dance. The commitment goes well beyond our recreational program.
Invitation
& Auditions:
All students in performing lines will be required to audition unless an
invitation has been issued from the recreational standpoint. If you are
a student from another town or studio competition team, you can talk to
us in a private confidential meeting/audition to see where you will best
fit in with our competition lines. These students will also have more
opportunities to perform.
Entry Fees:
All competitions have entry fees. These fees will usually range between
$60-90 per competition/dancer. There will be 3-4 the first year.
Studio Apparel:
All students are required to have purchased studio apparel for community
events and competitions. Official studio warm-ups are $90 and billed to
your first bill.

Class Etiquette:
All students will abide by very strict rules and standards both in class
and at competitions. What is required from the students is required from
the parents as well. There will never be negative talk about our dancers
or other studios or their dancers as well. Everyone wants to do the best
they can and no one will bring others down or discouraging them from doing
so. Student will show up on time. Everyone is allotted 3 missed classes
for whatever reasons they are to be.
Recital/Rehearsal:
If there is more than one recital, all performing line dancers will perform
in all shows. For the rehersal, performing line dancers are required to
be in costume and make-up.
Fundraising:
There will be many opportunities for competition students to raise money
for expenses. These can go towards any expenses other than tuition. We
have fun fundraisers that pretty much sell themselves. We will do four
during the year. Information will be sent out to all the students and
you can choose.
Code of Conduct:
Each dancer and parent must sign a code of conduct and follow it at all
times regardless of where the dancer/parent is. (studio, competition,
event, parade or anything that be dance related representing Contempo
Dance Centre.)
